The 1st annual South Bay Maritime Art Show will be held at the Chula Vista Marina Park and Mariners Room on September 29 & 30 in conjunction with the South Bay Harbor Days. South Bayfront Artists welcomes all art lovers to stroll the lovely outdoor marina setting while enjoying an intriguing variety of fine art originals such as paintings, sculpture, jewelry, photography and mixed media—
all produced by local artists.

A special aspect of this year’s show will be a juried competition composed of nautically-themed pieces—from ships to sea creatures and everything in between! Mark your calendars and note that hours on both Saturday and Sunday are 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Many of the items will be available for purchase, just in time for the holidays. Come and support your local artists!

The Chula Vista Marina is located at 550 Marina Pkwy, Chula Vista, CA 91910. Ample street parking adjoins the beautiful grassy expanse where the festival is set. Artists will have booths displaying their works and will be available for interviews and discussion. We anticipate our Spring and Fall Art Festivals becoming premier arts events in the South Bay region.

Not to be missed will be the excitement of the reception and awards ceremony, which will be held on Saturday at 4:30 pm. Winners in the various categories will be announced and prizes presented at the reception. We are committed to encouraging, promoting and recognizing local artists.

We are grateful for the support of the Chula Vista Marina. The marina has been a gracious supporter of South Bayfront Artists since our incorporation, offering us space for classes, meetings, art shows and festivals and a wonderful space for an Art Gallery for a few years. We also wish to thank Fran Muncie at the Galley at the Marina restaurant for her continued support. The Galley at the Marina restaurant, with good food and live music, is available for anyone wishing to dine while at the festival.

South Bayfront Artists is a non-profit community collaborative started in 2010 by local artists. The collaborative is dedicated to advancing the arts in the South Bay and to inspire artists and art lovers to “Imagine the Possibilities”. The group is composed of a variety of artists whose talents include videography, photography, traditional oil and watercolor, sculpture, woodwork, jewelry, ceramics and textiles. They are interested in mentoring young and emerging artists, offering a welcoming atmosphere for all levels.
